Position Name: House Parent
Reporting to: Head of Dept. / Principal
As hostel warden shouldbe able to maintain discipline in hostel and frame rules for guidance of boarders and get them approvd by HoD. Looks after the house hostel that accommodates students’ with-in number 40. Wake up call to the students in the morning and making sure that students go for morning exercises. Maintains an atmosphere of orderliness and discipline where each student can feel safe and achieve their academic goals
Coordinates the opening/closing of the school for any vacation -long or short
Assists the HM to run the regular evening assemblies with students
Liaison with other staff/departments before the vacation to fulfil the hostel requirements (cleaning, laundry, fumigation, maintenance, locking etc...)
Ensures that the students go for all the activities
Monitors and escorts the students during tuck-shop time
Assists in planning and organizing activities for the weekend, a month well in advance for smooth coordination and execution
Execute all duties and responsibilities as per job description of house parent at MIT VGS
Around minimum three to five years of experience working as a house parent for girls and boys hostel respectively.
Working for the students and keen on understanding the students issue and problem.
Accompanying students to medical facility center and exam center for various competitive exams.
Listening ear to students problem and resolve at the earliest.
